Biochemistry

We have a thriving Biochemistry group which, at any one time, usually consists of about 16 undergraduates (usually 4 per year group).

St Catherine’s has a large and historic commitment to Chemistry in comparison with many other Oxford colleges.

Computer Science

We are by far the largest college in Oxford for Computer Science, typically with 35-40 students studying Computer Science or one of its joint schools.

Computer Science & Philosophy

Computer Science and Philosophy combines aspects of the two constituent subjects, particularly based around rational inference and logic.

Economics & Management

St Catherine’s was among the first group of colleges to admit undergraduates for the Economics and Management degree.

Geography is one of the largest subjects at St Catherine’s and aims to admit 10 undergraduates each year.

History is large and vigorous field with the College. At any one time, St Catherine’s has about thirty undergraduates reading History, independently or as part of a joint degree.

The College has been an active promoter of the History of Art course, and usually takes three undergraduates each year.

St Catherine’s boasts one of the friendliest Human Sciences departments in the university, with around four students in each year group.

Law (Jurisprudence)

St Catherine's has a vibrant legal community attributable in part to the fact that the College admits a greater number of students to study the subject in comparison with most other colleges.

Materials Science

The College has a strong tradition in Materials Science, with one of the larger undergraduate intakes as well as a healthy number of graduate students.

St Catherine’s has one of the larger college Music departments, with an intake of around four new students per year.

Psychology (Experimental)

Experimental Psychology is by definition a highly interdisciplinary subject, with teaching and research spanning from Social Psychology and Intergroup Conflict to Behavioural Neuroscience.

St Catherine's is one of the few colleges with a representation of a Tutorial Fellow in each of the three components of the Psychology, Philosophy and Linguistics degree.
