Stipendiary Lecturership in Law (Private Law) – closing date 10 June

St Catherine’s College proposes to appoint one or more Stipendiary Lecturer(s) in Law (Private Law) for the academic years 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 to cover sabbatical leave and dispensations in teaching duties.

The post-holder(s) will be responsible for teaching tutorials and classes in the following compulsory FHS and Mods subjects and expected to teach as follows:

2026-2027 and 2027-2028

Trinity Term  

Contract (FHS) (estimated 7 weighted hours in each week of the term, including tutorials and classes for students studying the subject in the first year of their degree and revision classes for final year students)

Trusts (FHS) (estimated 7 weighted hours in each week of the term, including tutorials and classes for students studying the subject in the second year of their degree and revision classes for final year students)

(Annual contract – total, for Contract and Trusts, 14 weekly weighted hours across 3 terms: 4.67 hours per term)

2027-2028 only

Hilary Term 2028      

A Roman Introduction to Private Law (Mods) (estimated 7 weighted hours in each week of the term, including tutorials and classes for students studying the subject in the first year of their degree)

(Annual contract – total, for Roman Law, 7 weekly weighted hours, 2.33 hours per term)

The salary for a Stipendiary Lecturer with a contractual stint of 4.67 weighted hours is currently  £13,160 per annum, and for a Stipendiary Lecturer with a contractual stint of 2.33 weighted hours is currently £6,566 per annum.

The Lecturer will be a member of the Senior Common Room and will be entitled to dine at common table, with entitlement depending on the agreed stint. Teaching/seminar rooms are available for booking within College.
