Sir Greg Doran knighted in 2024 New Year’s Honours

Professor Sir Greg Doran, the current Cameron Mackintosh Professor for Contemporary Theatre, was knighted in the 2024 New Year’s Honours for services to the Arts.

“I am delighted to have received this honour,” he said in a statement on the award.

“Shakespeare has been a passport through my life, and I have been privileged to be able to spend so much of career working with the very greatest company dedicated to his work, the Royal Shakespeare Company, and sharing his genius with as many as possible around the world.”

His inaugural lecture, ‘My Shakespeare: A Director’s Journey through the First Folio: Greg Doran in conversation with Bart van Es’, can be viewed here.

We congratulate him on this well-deserved knighthood and look forward to his continued work with the Catz and Oxford community during his professorship.
