Celebrating Wilfrid Knapp’s Legacy
Wilfrid Knapp (1924–2011), a Founding Fellow of St Catherine’s, played a pivotal role in shaping the College’s foundation and future. ‘His 42-year tenure saw him as an exceptional tutor, expert in international politics, fundraiser, and friend to the alumni. Even after his retirement in 1992, his dedication to the College continued for nearly two more decades.

Known for his warmth and personal interest in students’ lives, Wilfrid helped many flourish both academically and personally. His efforts built a global alumni community, ensuring St Catherine’s could compete with its more established peers. Wilfrid’s enthusiasm, tireless commitment, and forward-thinking approach remain at the heart of St Catherine’s today.

Introducing the Leonore Piano Trio
Formed in 2012, the Leonore Piano Trio—Benjamin Nabarro (violin), Gemma Rosefield (cello), and Tim Horton (piano)—has captivated audiences worldwide. Known for their intelligent and stylish interpretations, they bring both the celebrated works of classical and romantic composers and forgotten gems from the 19th century to life.

Their acclaimed recordings for Hyperion, including works by Parry and David Matthews, have established them as leading voices in contemporary music and education outreach. Recent highlights include the premiere of a new trio by Huw Watkins and their dedication to engaging young audiences with commissioned works.

We hope you can join us for this special celebration of Wilfrid Knapp’s extraordinary legacy.
