The Telephone Campaign is a fantastic way for us to stay connected with our alumni and an essential part of our regular fundraising. Each year the campaign allows us to update you on the latest Catz news and to thank you for your support to the college, whilst also giving our students the opportunity to hear about your time at Catz.

If you have any questions about the December 2021 Telephone Campaign, please contact Emma Simpson, Deputy Director of Development, on development.office@stcatz.ox.ac.uk or +44(0)1865 271705.

Meet the December 2021 Student Callers

Aditi AgrawalHi, I'm Aditi, a final year DPhil in computational biology. I work with the building of mathematical models of the heart which are used for cardiac safety toxicity screening. I commenced my doctoral studies at Oxford in 2018 and before that finished my undergraduate in engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. In my free time I enjoy running and reading.<>
Thomas McKeownI’m a finalist studying French and German and come from a small town around 30 minutes outside of Belfast. I’ve just come back from my year abroad which I spent teaching in a small town in Normandy, before living in Vienna for a short while through the summer. I’ve done a bit of everything around Oxford, but my main hobby is definitely music – I was in charge of the Oxford University Ceilidh Band and love attending folk sessions all around the city as frequently as I can. I was also Catz JCR President in 2019-20, so have been involved in the inner workings of the College! Exams are looming but I still try to get involved in College life however I can by playing in sports teams, going to Open Meetings and chatting with basically everyone I walk past.
Grace OlusolaHello! My name is Grace Olusola and I am in my third year studying History and English at Catz. I’m very involved in student drama and have written a play that was put on in the Modern Art Oxford basement this year. I am also the Welfare officer of the Oxford University Dramatic Society, and was in the Catz musical in my first year. I also love to sing and am in the Aseda Gospel choir, a choir for Afro-Caribbean students in Oxford. I can’t wait to chat to alumni and connect with the history of Catz through them, as college life is probably my favourite thing about university!
Dom PhillipsHi! I’m Dom, a second-year History and Politics student. I came to Oxford from a state school in Staffordshire, West Midlands and I’ve been hugely grateful to enjoy the Oxford experience. It’s been a pleasure and privilege to attend the College and University so far, and I look forward to continuing to learn lessons, make memories, and get the most out of my three short years here. In my spare time, I’m an avid football fan (Up the Villa), I have interest in the arts, specifically music and fashion, and I’d say you can’t beat a good pint and a good chat to unwind. I look forward to speaking with you!
Becky PowellHi, I’m Becky. I’m from Widnes, a small town in the North-West near Liverpool. I am currently in my first term at Oxford studying History and French here St Catherine’s College. In my free-time, I have been involved in theatre productions as well as dance and at Oxford I’ve been involved in lacrosse for the first time in my life!
Beth ProctorHi, my name’s Beth and I’m a second-year linguist, studying Spanish and Portuguese. I’m from Nottinghamshire but am looking forward to visiting sunnier parts of the world on my year abroad next year! Currently, I’m doing lots of rowing and am helping organise acts and entertainment for the upcoming Catz ball.
Anthony Rajecki-DoyleHi I’m Anthony, a graduate fresher studying for an MSc in mathematics, focusing on Machine Learning, Network Science and Computational Biology. I completed my undergrad at Warwick University with exchange semesters at HKU and VU Amsterdam. In my free time I enjoy bouldering at the Brookes Gym and windsurfing - usually in warmer climates!
Ishani
Shah
Hello! I’m a third year Biochemist. I’m so happy to be back at Catz and getting involved in college life! When I’m not working you will find me watching theatre or going for long walks exploring Oxford to catch up on the past year. I really enjoy getting to meet new people and look forward to connecting with the Catz community and sharing stories!
Nadine Staes-PoletHello! I'm Nadine, a third-year History and Politics student at St Catz. In my free time I enjoy rowing, playing water polo and knitting very ugly jumpers. The most wonderful thing about Catz is its friendly and welcoming community, and I'm really looking forward to speaking to alumni and hearing about their time here.
Aik Wen TanHi, I'm Aik Wen! I'm from Singapore and I'm studying History at St Catz. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, juggling, and a bit of badminton.
Khushal ThobhaniMy name's Khush and I'm a final year student at Catz studying Law. I'm from just outside of North West London (Pinner, but its been easier to tell people I'm from Watford!) and I absolutely love being a member of the Catz Community. When I'm not working, the majority of my time is spent socialising around college. I love using the Gym (having recently qualified as a PT) and I'm very physically active, often playing squash with friends and relaxing with some pool in the JCR. From time to time, I work shifts with Ferhat behind the college bar and I enjoy going out for a drink and a meal with friends around Oxford (if Hassan's counts as a meal!). I can't wait to see what the rest of this year has to offer, and look forward to starting my Training Contract in London with a law firm when leaving University.
