Professor Louise Fawcett appointed to United Nations University (UNU) governing Council
The College is delighted to share the news that Professor Louise Fawcett has been appointed as one of six new members to the United Nations University (UNU) governing Council. These appointments, made by the Secretary-General of the United Nations in consultation with the Director-General of UNESCO, reflect the University’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, global diversity and leadership in addressing the world’s most pressing challenges.
Louise Fawcett is Professor of International Relations and Wilfrid Knapp Fellow and Tutor in Politics, St Catherine’s College, University of Oxford, 1995 – present. From 2017-2020 she was Head of Oxford’s Department of Politics and International Relations (DPIR). She works on comparative regionalism and the international relations of developing countries, particularly the Middle East.
