Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, 1926-2022

St Catherine’s College is deeply saddened by the news of the death of Her Majesty The Queen.

Acceding to the throne in 1952, Her Majesty was the longest-ever serving British monarch and the longest-serving global head of state upon her death.

Her Majesty was present at the earliest moments of St Catherine’s College, laying the foundation stone of the new college’s buildings during their construction in 1960.

The College is flying the Union flag at half-mast to mark Her Majesty’s death.
