College Visitor named Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine
On 23 July, 2024, Baron Victor Adebowale CBE, the College’s Visitor, became an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine in recognition of his contribution to health, healthcare or medicine. The same evening saw the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Irene Tracey CBE, also given the honour.
Commenting on his Fellowship, Baron Adebowale said: “The health and care system is going to need all of you … I invite you all not to hang on to the things you know but to be curious about the things you need to know. Because the NHS is all of us.”
Baron Adebowale is the College’s second Visitor, after His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, who had served as Visitor since the foundation of the College in 1962.
We congratulate Baron Adebowale on this prestigious honour.
