Catz Student wins 2024 Jane Willis Kirkaldy Senior Prize

Joseph Foster (2020, History), now a DPhil student in the History of Science, Medicine, and Technology, has won the 2024 Jane Willis Kirkaldy Senior Prize. His work, An Abnormal Monopoly, explores how concerns over British Army recruits’ dental health led to a push for better oral care, impacting the NHS post-war. Joe’s doctoral research examines the history of fluoridation in Great Britain from 1963-2000 and the challenges faced by the pro-fluoridation campaign.
