Giving Day Raises Over £150,000 in a Powerful Display of Catz Community Spirit

Our second-ever Giving Day was an overwhelming success, raising more than £150,000 from over 450 donors in just 36 hours, a powerful testament to the enduring generosity and spirit of the Catz community.

This year’s Giving Day, held from 20 to 21 May 2025, focused on restoring our much-loved Wolfson Library, which has been closed since September 2023 following the discovery of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) in its flat roof. Several other key College buildings were also affected. In addition to the Library restoration, funds were directed towards enriching the student experience through our Outreach and Access programmes and support for Student Clubs and Societies.

The event featured several memorable highlights: we met our first Donor Challenge in under 30 minutes, set a new record for first-time Catz donors, and saw the Master display a brick of RAAC at a staff coffee morning that combined seriousness with a touch of Catz humour.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part, whether by donating, sharing memories on our Memory Wall, or joining us for Giving Day events. Your support brings hope and tangible help to current and future generations of Catz students. Thank you for being part of something special.

If you would like to participate in the Giving Day, our site is still live and any gifts given over the next week will still be counted in the final totals. Alternatively, you can make a gift online here.
