Catz community breaking records

The generosity of our alumni and friends has always played a crucial role at St Catz. We are delighted to report that this year’s fundraising campaign has generated unprecedented support, which will have a far-reaching impact on everything we do at the College.

With 1 in 5 of our alumni making donations in the 2015-16 financial year, our community was one of the most generous in Oxford. This year, one of our alumnae challenged us to reach these amazing results again and pledged to give a very generous donation of £50,000, if 20% of our alumni gave to Catz again, by the end of the 2016-17 financial year.

We were thrilled that a record 2,000 individuals made gifts, surpassing the target and unlocking the munificent £50,000 pledge. This is the largest number of people who have ever supported St Catz in one year, and we are tremendously grateful for this wonderful and humbling generosity. The Master, Professor Roger Ainsworth, commented: “I was so pleased to see the Catz community come together to make this outstanding result possible – this is surely a testament to the enduring commitment of our alumni and friends to the future of the College.”

The support of our community helps us to offer financial assistance for students who are in need, preserve our fantastic team of over 100 Tutors and Lecturers, and maintain and enhance our buildings. Looking ahead, donations will continue to be vital in enabling us to provide a first-class education to students from all backgrounds, for generations to come. With the firm backing of our community, we can look to the future with confidence.
