Catz alumni recognised in 2023 New Years Honours

St Catherine’s College is pleased to share the news that two alumni have been recognised in the King’s New Year Honours 2023 Overseas and International List.

Sonu Shivdasani (1985, English), has been appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to tourism, sustainability and charity. Mr. Shivdasani is a hotelier and founder of the Soneva Foundation, which champions greater environmental responsibility in the hospitality sector.

Professor Lesley Lokko (1984, Oriental Studies) has been appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to architecture and to education. Professor Lokko is a novelist, academic, and architect, as well as the Founder of the African Futures Institute in Accra, Ghana. She will curate this year’s Venice Biennale of Architecture.
