Catz Fellow appointed to prestigious lectureship
St Catherine’s College is delighted to share that Professor Nomi Dave, Henfrey Fellow in Music, has been appointed as the Evans-Pritchard Lecturer for 2026–27.

The prestigious lectureship, hosted by All Souls College, will see Nomi deliver the Evans-Pritchard Lectures in Trinity Term 2027.
Nomi is an interdisciplinary researcher working across music, sound studies, legal studies and anthropology. Her research examines sound, voice, violence and the law, with particular interests in ethnography, listening, testimony, and the role of sound in legal and political processes.
At St Catz, Nomi teaches sound and music ethnography, including topics such as music and authoritarianism, music and pleasure, and the social and cultural study of music.
The appointment recognises Nomi’s significant contribution to interdisciplinary scholarship, and reflects the strength and breadth of research taking place across the College Fellowship.
St Catz warmly congratulates Nomi on this recognition and celebrates the contribution her work continues to make to the College’s academic community.
