4,900 dialling attempts, with over 60% of those called choosing to make a donation

Over £200,000 raised

11 student callers

Thanks to the generosity of our global community of Catz alumni, we are able to continue to tackle the costs of extensive remedial work to mitigate the effects of RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) on our day-to-day operations and the running of our temporary structures.

We are also able to continue to provide for other important projects in line with our founding principles, such as scholarships and financial support to students in need; outreach programmes to help develop pupils’ aspirations regarding higher education, and supporting our academics and students in their world-leading research and education.

Here is why some of our Telethon callers chose to take part this year, and why they believe that engaging with alumni is important:

Engaging with alumni is important for a variety of reasons. Not only is engagement with alumni in keeping with Catz’s spirit of being a warm, friendly and familial college, but established networks of communication also allow for current students to receive insights into areas that they are interested in and opportunities which they may wish to pursue. Equally, regular communication allows for alumni to hear about how the college has changed and developed since they left.

I believe that alumni engagement is really valuable to both the current and past members of college as it allows the alumni network to thrive and stay close to St Catherine’s, inspiring current students.

Emma Savidge (2023, Modern Languages)

Engaging with alumni is a brilliant way for both the current student body to look forward at the many trajectories former members of the Catz community have taken to draw inspiration from for their futures, as well as allowing alumni to look back upon their memories of life at Catz and see how the college and its community has evolved.

Malachy Walker (2021, Geography)

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Telethon such a success, we are truly grateful to you all.
