During Point 2 of the Catalyst Programme, we run an interactive workshop, hosted by a school in each of our hubs, for year 10 students.

This workshop explores requirements for different jobs as well as university courses and apprenticeships and encourages participants to start to think about A-Level choices (or equivalent), and consider how the decisions that they are making now will impact them in the future. Feedback showed that after this workshop, 98% of year 10 students had a strong understanding of how their A level (or equivalent) choices could affect their future and 93% felt confident that they understood the entry requirements for university and apprenticeship courses, and had a broader understanding of possible options available to them.

In preparation for their visit to Oxford at Point 3 of the programme, the students also participate in a critical thinking workshop to help them to begin to understand and develop the skills required to think like an undergraduate student.
