Congratulations to our 2023 offer-holders !

We are delighted to be able to announce that this year we gave 174 students the news that they have been made an offer of a place at St Catherine’s College. As the origins of the College are rooted in a Society, founded with the aim of encouraging students from less privileged backgrounds to study at Oxford, we are particularly committed to attracting the most gifted students regardless of their background.

This year, 67% of our UK offer-holders are state-educated and 11% are eligible for free school meals, including some who have spent time in care. Within this cohort, 45% of offer-holders are joining us from the most disadvantaged groups and 20% identify as being disabled. We have made offers to candidates from sixth-form colleges, grammar schools, other state schools and independent schools from every corner of the UK. Internationally, we have offer-holders hailing from 21 countries across the world.

A record 11 offers have been made by the College under the Opportunity Oxford programme, and we are delighted that this year’s cohort of offer holders includes students who have benefitted from our sustained contact outreach programme, Catalyst. You can find out more about our work to support the most talented students to make applications to highly competitive Universities, regardless of their background, on our outreach webpages.
