Benefactors’ Garden Party 2026 – ‘Blooming Back: Biodiversity After Adversity’
The annual Benefactors’ Garden Party will be held in the Master’s Lodgings and Gardens, offering a special opportunity to thank those whose generous support continues to make a lasting difference to St Catherine’s College.
This year’s theme celebrates the remarkable renewal of the College grounds following a challenging period of disruption. After three years shaped by temporary structures, unusual shadows, and the pressures of essential construction work, the gardens are now entering a new chapter – one defined by recovery, resilience, and thoughtful regeneration.
Guests will hear from Catz Head Gardener Paul, who will share insights into the careful restoration process and the reintroduction of planting schemes designed to support a richer, more resilient ecosystem for all to enjoy. The programme will also feature a short academic showcase from current graduate students in related fields – each of whom will offer fresh perspectives on how biodiversity can continue even in constrained and changing environments.
Together, these contributions reflect the vital role that philanthropic support has played – not only in safeguarding the College’s architectural heritage, but in revitalising its green spaces as places of beauty, learning, and ecological value.
Guests are warmly invited to spend the afternoon in the gardens, enjoying an informal and relaxed programme of talks. This event will provide ample opportunity to connect with fellow benefactors while enjoying a selection of seasonal drinks and canapés in one of the College’s most cherished settings.
