Wallace Watson Award Lecture

Wallace Watson (2000, Chemistry) was an undergraduate at St Catz, who achieved much in his short life, through combining determination with consideration for others, and success with modesty and humour. The Wallace Watson Award was set up in 2001 to give St Catz students the opportunities that Wallace grasped with both hands and foster an inner strength of character, an appreciation of other cultures and a broadening of the mind.

The Wallace Watson Award is awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student to undertake an expedition of a challenging nature in a mountainous or remote area anywhere in the world. The lecture will be given by this year’s winner, Matteo Broketa (2016, Biomedical Sciences) who will tell us about his trek across the Argentinian Andes, linking seven trails in what’s thought to be a previously unnavigated route. We also look forward to the announcement of the winner of the 2019 award.
