College Open Days 2019
If you are thinking of applying to the University of Oxford then we would encourage you to find out more about St Catherine’s College by attending one of our Open Days. The College will be open for the next main University Open Day on Wednesday 3 July 2019, Thursday 4 July 2019, and Friday 20 September 2019.
There is no need to book to attend our Open Days – everyone is welcome! A full programme of events is found below.
Please register at the welcome desk in the Porters’ Lodge upon arrival at the College. We will be open for visitors from 9am until 6pm.
Why not plan to visit over lunchtime? Sandwiches (first-come first-served) will be available in the JCR at 1pm, and current students and staff will be available to give tours and answer questions. Alternatively, the College will be open until 6pm, so you could consider visiting us at the end of the day if there hasn’t been time earlier on.

Subject Meetings with Tutors

Parents, guardians and teachers are encouraged to attend the information session at 12.15pm whilst prospective applicants meet subject tutors.
Sandwiches will be available in the JCR at 1pm on a first-come, first-served basis. Tea, coffee, squash and biscuits will be available throughout the day in the JCR.
Our Open Days are informal events which coincide with Open Days in departments and colleges, and many other events around Oxford. For a full list of events, please see the University webpages.
A limited amount of accommodation is often available at St Catherine’s for prospective applicants attending the Open Day. Unfortunately we are only able to accommodate prospective applicants, and not parents or teachers. The charge is £10/night per person for dinner, bed and breakfast. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to enquire about availability.
Please be aware…
During your visit to Oxford you may see organisations handing out leaflets in the street, claiming to offer advice on the application process. Please be warned that these businesses are not affiliated with the University of Oxford, and they may charge for their services. We encourage you to take advantage of the many free opportunities the University is offering to find out more.
Travelling to St Catherine’s
Directions to St Catherine’s are found here. We strongly recommend that you use public transport if at all possible. If you do travel by car, please note that parking in the city centre is very limited. There are several Park & Ride bus services which run from car parks on the outskirts of Oxford. Please avoid both the Thornhill and Seacourt Park & Rides which are often full.
We look forward to welcoming you to one of our Open Days. If you have any questions then please do not hesitate ask them via email.
If you would like a tour of the College but are unable to attend an Open Day then please email the Deputy Academic Registrar (Admissions & Access) to arrange a visit.
