Applications Open for 2018 Wallace Watson Award

St Catz undergraduate and graduate students are invited to apply for the 2018 Wallace Watson Award, which encourages students to undertake expeditions or travel of a challenging nature, by providing financial assistance. The objective of the initiative is to foster an inner strength of character, an appreciation of other cultures and a broadening of the mind, through helping to ensure opportunities for St Catz students to travel the world.

Applications should be submitted to the Master at by Wednesday 7th February 2018, outlining objectives and plans for the expedition/travel, cost, timings, equipment required and participants. Interviews for short-listed candidates will take place on 21 February 2018 and the winner will be announced at the Wallace Watson Award Lecture on 8 March 2018. The winner of the Award will be expected to give a lecture in Hilary Term 2019.

The amount to be awarded will be typically between £750 and £2500, depending on the quality of the winning application(s) and the costs associated with the expedition/travel.
