Colin Thompson

Colin Thompson is a specialist in Spanish literature of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries ('the Golden Age'). He has published widely in this area, and is the author of three books on writers of the period, the most recent of which is a study of the poet and mystic San Juan de la Cruz (St John of the Cross: Songs in the Night, London: SPCK, 2002).

He is currently working on the relationships between the literature and painting of the Golden Age. He has been Fellow & Tutor in Spanish since 1989. He is also an ordained minister of the United Reformed Church.
