Freedom of the City of London for Catz Fellow

Catz Fellow in Biological Sciences, Professor Angela Brueggemann, has been awarded the Freedom of the City of London at a ceremony in July 2015, after being presented by the Worshipful Company of Leathersellers. Earlier in the year, she was also awarded the Freedom of the Leathersellers’ Company.

The Freedom of the City of London is an honour granted to a valued member of the community, and it is one of the oldest surviving traditional ceremonies still in existence today. You can find more information about it here.

Angela is a Governor at Colfe’s School in London, a school to which the Leathersellers’ Company has strong ties, and she received the Freedoms in recognition of her outreach work with both Colfe’s and local state schools in the area.
