“METAMORPHOSIS” Composition Competition

St Catherine’s College is delighted to announce that it will be hosting a composition competition for young composers aged 15-25, based in Oxfordshire.

Please note, the deadline for entries has now been extended to Tuesday 8 October 2013.

The final of the competition will in fact take place at St Catherine’s College, Oxford on the afternoon of 22 November 2013, the 100th anniversary of Benjamin Britten’s birth. Entries will be judged by a panel including Robert Saxton, Professor of Composition at Oxford, and St Catherine’s College graduate, the composer and clarinettist Mark Simpson (who will perform the shortlisted finalists’ compositions as part of the event on 22 November, when a winner or winners will be chosen from up to five shortlisted entries, whose composers will also be invited to the Sheldonian concert that evening).
