Philip de Glanville (1990, Politics and Sociology) Former England Rugby Captain

Phil was born in Loughborough in 1968. After studying for his undergraduate degree at Durham University, he earned his Blue when representing Oxford during his year at St Catherine's and he played for England under-21s.
 
He joined Bath as Centre in 1989 and played for them 189 times, scoring 53 tries. Between 1992 and 1998, Phil played for England 38 times, captaining the team 1996-1997.
 
In 2003 he competed in the BBC's Superstars television show, winning the kayaking and golf events. He is a regional member of Sport England and since finishing as the Director of Elite Sport at Hartpury College in October 2015, Phil has been working as a Consultant for Hanover Fox International, a quality-driven executive search consultancy, operating at senior and board level across a range of sectors.
