Catz 2016 telethon achieves remarkable result

We are delighted to announce that this year’s Catz Telethon has raised over £300,000, including a generous matching gift of £45,000 from alumnus Dr Wilfred Wong (m. 1976). A team of 19 enthusiastic callers contacted our alumni from across generations and were able to share stories, experiences and news from the College.

Our donors gave from as far away as Australia and as close as central Oxford. Many donors gave for the first time whilst many had also been supporting the College for years. The Telethon provided a fantastic opportunity for our current students to gain career advice and reassurances for life past graduation, as well as raising valuable funds towards the College. Every year, we are amazed at the generosity and goodwill of our alumni who help us support our Catz community. Indeed, over half of the alumni we contacted chose to make a gift!

To all those who gave, both as part of the Telethon and otherwise, we are immensely grateful. The support we provide to students, teaching and facilities is greatly enhanced by the generosity of our alumni. For those who have not made a donation, it’s not too late to be part of this incredible success story! You can view our Giving Page here. Our thanks extend too, of course, to our wonderful student callers; this result could not have been possible without them!
